I couldn't have said it better myself.

Despite what you may have seen on the streets, the following combinations DO NOT go together and should be avoided:   1. A nose ring and bifocals 2. Spiked hair and bald spots 3. A pierced tongue and dentures 4. Miniskirts and support hose 5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads 6. Speedos and cellulite 7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar 8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor 9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge 10. Pierced nipples that hang below the waist 11. Bikinis and liver spots 12. Short shorts and varicose veins 13. In-line skates and a walker   And the ultimate 'Bad Taste' in fashion:   14. A thong and Depends

New shoes make it all worthwhile

This morning on public transit I had to question my decision to stop biking for the season.  Although I would be leaving and getting home in the dark, I may change my mind. A man on the bus this morning was hacking and choking and coughing and sniffing and snuffing and generally being gross.  Not his fault of course but yuck.

The things you learn at 5:30 a.m.

There really were a lot of stars sharing the sky with the moon but they chose not to be photographed. I managed to get out for a run bright (not) and early this morning using my cool shoe lights.  At 5:30 b irds are not awake, the car wash is open and people walking their dogs in Barrhaven are grumpy. I realized this morning that I have 24 Instagram followers.   Exciting stuff.   I only need 4,469,303 to beat Kim Kardashian and 1,199,997 to beat Bill Nye the Science Guy.   Tell your friends and family to follow me at @lettsandra J Word of the Day:   Agglomeration:   1.   the action or process of collecting in a mass; 2. a heap or cluster of usually disparate elements <urban agglomerations knit together by the new railways — Times Literary Supplement> Today was our denim day for the Terry Fox Campaign.   I went out last weekend to find the most interesting pants possible.   Little did I know that people would actually like them.   Jonathan said that

Yes, this is a couch in the Rideau Canal!!! What is with kids today?   Did your parents not teach you to respect others, respect the environment, respect other people’s property?   Have you never heard your parents complain about their tax bill?   I know that I can be proud of the fact that we taught our children to respect other people’s property and the environment.   I sent this picture to Carleton University in hopes that they will have cameras that could track who took a couch out of one of their buildings and threw it in the Rideau Canal.   I also hope that someone at the University cares enough to actually do something about it because now our tax dollars are going to be spent for someone to retrieve it.   There is a whole ecosystem that is damaged because of this immature stupidity. Now, onto the weekend.   Was up and at Bayshore early on Saturday to be a personal shopper.   Yes, I am available to assist you in your time of shoes/clothing need.   I helped Carolyn purcha

Captain America saves the day...well, helps raise some money

Our Ottawa Terry Fox Team held a raffle today. Captain America went around to offer people the chance to become superhero's by buying raffle tickets.  We raised $200 for the Terry Fox Campaign and Captain America is very grateful to everyone who bought a ticket. If anyone wants an autograph, Captain America will be at the Carleton University site for the Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 18th at 8:30 a.m.  Just look for the Captain's super powered flying balloons. A ticket got you a superpower pop

Mother-in-law to be bus tales

As you are all aware school is back, vacations are over and the buses are so packed.   I had to stand this morning   but finally at Lincoln Fields a woman was getting up off her seat.   What does she do?   She tapped a woman beside me and let her have the seat she was vacating.   Hey, don’t you know that I am a senior with a sore back?   Apparently not.   Then at Tunny’s a woman got off and a man took her seat.   Hello…..senior with a sore back (with a   backpack containing two heavy bottles of wine) still standing over here!!   Finally I got a seat and two stops later I had to get off.   So unfair. Yes, I will be throwing out my senior-itis when it suits my needs but beware any who actually call me that because a cranky old lady is not a sight you want to see – lol.   Don’t forget to support the Terry Fox Run on September 18, 2016 Happy Friday Everyone.

Happy Long Weekend

In less than 24 hours we'll be on our way to Toronto so I thought I should put a few of the New York pictures out there.  It would be fun to go back to NYC and see more of the City and boroughs...maybe some day. Nothing like a trip to the Rump Building. You can't really read this but it says:  Due to Sanitary Reasons Positively no Grooming.   Bathing or washing clothes is not permitted in restrooms at any time.  Really!  People had to have washed their clothes in the washroom at the Staten Island Ferry building at one time in order for them to need to post this.  Ewwwwwwwwwwww. No, I did not buy these.  Now if they had heels.... Someone's daughters in their undies and body paint.  I suppose their parents should be grateful they put underwear on. Now these guys!  Sheesh.  You are someone's significant other (or maybe not), parent or possibly grandparent and this is what you do on a Saturday night?  You are offensive on so many levels. A

Dear City of Ottawa: It is time to do something about the unsafe Laurier Avenue bike lanes.

I am very grateful that I got a flat tire this morning and had to abandon my bike and take the bus because 8:00 is the time that I would be coming down the Laurier bike lane to work. It is with great sadness that I heard that a young woman riding her bike this morning was killed by a dump truck. I believe she was in the bike lane on Laurier Avenue and the truck was turning right off of Laurier.   From personal experience I have had trucks and cars turn right without looking to see if anyone is in the bike lane and I have had to slam on the brakes so I don’t get injured.   I find the Laurier bike lanes very unsafe between cars and trucks turning right without looking, pedestrians jaywalking and not looking to see if there is a bike coming and people opening their car doors without looking.   In the evenings the bike lane is always blocked because, even though there is no room to move forward, impatient drivers turn right and have to stop in the intersection.   I have not seen one p
