I feel like a weather evangelist

Image
Do you get tired of me pointing out what beautiful weather we are having?   I hope not because it just keeps continuing.   We won’t discuss last weekend’s weather except to say that it helped bring back the green. I am sad that it is chilly in the mornings and I’m going to need gloves for biking soon but the afternoons are amazing so it’s all worth it.   Keep summer coming. This morning’s commute took a bit longer than usual because I had to keep stopping to take pictures to capture the gloriousness of the day.   Maybe I should get one of those cameras for the top of my helmet.   When I see people with them I feel like I should sit up straighter on my bike and smile just in case they are capturing me.   I really hope its not when my face is all scrunched up trying to bike in the hurricane-like winds….I imagine that it’s not a pretty sight. Who hired this person!!!

Someone got hired to design these shoes/boots.  Why?  Who would wear these?  What is their purpose?  Its like the Hummer's that I see driving in Barrhaven.  We are such a war zone. Seriously, these offend all my senses.  To anyone who has or will buy them I apologize but really - ewwwwwwwwwwww.  Let's take your $60 plus tax and I'll got shoe shopping with you.

It's like I biked to the moon....and back

Red shoes are perfect for Friday.     Well, that’s what it feels like today.   I mapped out my route which works out to 23.6 km each way to work so I have biked approximately 184 km this week which explains why I almost gave up half way to work this morning.   I had it all worked out.   I would stop and lay down on a bench (thank you City of Ottawa for putting so many of them along the canal).   I just needed to find the perfect bench with a great view for when I woke up.   I would call into work and say that I was “under the weather” (well, laying under the clouds counts, doesn’t it?).   After a nap I would either bike very slowly home or even walk.     Walking couldn’t be so hard, right?   By the time I had this all figured out I was almost downtown so here I sit at my desk.   I don’t normally have cereal for breakfast but had to this morning.   Needed some carbs.  This is what I really wanted. ...

Do birds yawn?

That is my question of the day.  I saw a seagull standing on the Rideau Canal wall this morning and it looked like he was yawning.  Now I'm curious. I forgot to show you the shoes I wore yesterday.  It was a fabulous shoe day.  After an initial crack (and even I was a tad worried for a moment) my foot settled into the shoe and was quite happy for the entire day.  We won't discuss how it felt last night....that's a secret between me and my Advil. Like the shoes say "my feet looked fabulous". Today's shoes are a favourite from our last Pointe Clair shopping adventure. You just have to love living in Canada.  The weather was so different this morning than it was yesterday.  Yesterday I was sweating 15 minutes into my ride to work and this morning it felt like there were icicles on my fingers.  Lovely for biking though.  So many pretty sights to see this morning as well.  Seeing the hot air balloon in the sunrise was so pret...

Feeling Fabulous

Welcome to Wednesday.   Mid-week.   Half way to the weekend.   Feeling better yet?   Yesterday I got to listen to college and university kids chatting on the bus and it was enlightening.   Apparently Riverfest was sick and if you meet someone who lives on res it is also sick.   My old brain figures that must be a good thing.   Hahaha.   It was nice to hear one guy tell   his friend that he was going back to Algonquin after quitting in 2011.   Good on him. Back riding to work this morning.   Holy moly but it’s a hot one.   Started sweating after 15 minutes.   Ever get that mustache sweat followed by the chin sweat?   Makes me feel so glamorous.   Actually it was kind of sweaty riding in but it was when I stopped in the parking garage that it was like being dumped on with a bucket of water….hot water.   Super lovely feeling.   I was “glistening” J .        ...

Another sweet riding day

We made it downtown  and can't wait to see  what's in store for the return journey.  Very nusy at the beech today.

Back at my favorite spot

It has been like biking through a hurricane.  Super windy.  A foot soak and lots of Advil will make this day superb.  Hope you had lots of fun today.
