Reprogramming Needed



The weekend started out great.  Friday I was told that I should consider leaving a half hour early.  My response was “Why?”.  I really do have to be reprogrammed!  I did start the process for biking home 15 minutes early so I consider that progress.  One day I hope that I will learn to just say “Thanks” when offered the opportunity to leave early and not worry about cleaning up what’s on my desk.  Is there a therapist for that?



Another fine weekend for garage sale-ing.  This weekend we went to Alta Vista.  I think that the folks in Alta Vista are a little more civilized than the rest of us because people were still setting up at 8:30 a.m.  Everywhere else is up and at it by 7:00 a.m.  8:30 works for me.

We saw a couple of interesting pieces.  I thought of the dragon for my garden to scare away the squirrels but as Jonathan pointed out, they would most likely just build a nest inside it.




There weren’t a lot of treasures for me this weekend but I did find these things.  With all the talk of the fabulous camera in the iPhone I thought it was time to go old school.  I hope that Charlie and Barin will enjoy it when they come for a visit.



I am a huge fan of pop up books and these, while well loved, are still wonderful.  Can’t wait to share them and the babushka animals.  Who could be hiding inside the cow?

I spent the rest of the weekend fighting with the squirrels.  Honestly, why are there so many damned squirrels in Barrhaven (and why does my keyboard keep going to FrenchÉ  Where is my question markÉ.  Now I have to Google a question mark and cut and paste it!
Did you know that they make squirrel houses?  Why?  Why would anyone want to offer accommodations to a squirrel? 


I think I’ll come up with my own design using this template.  What do you think?


I spent yesterday thinking that I should come into work because I am very busy.  It was an all day conversation with myself.  Jenn – you will be glad to hear that the “I’ll stay home and do chores” part of me won.  Of course, here it is 7:00 a.m. on Monday and I am at my desk.
Since I am here so early I suppose I better get to work.

Oh but Charlie Brown you picked a fantastic tree and now my office looks so Christmas-y.  I could use a pair of gold sparkly shoes just like that one too. Cows downtown today? I hope so.

    There is a demonstration happening downtown today by the Dairy Farmers of Ontario.   I hope that they bring cows.   That would be amazing to watch.   I’m not sure what their issue is but I try to do my part by eating yogurt.   I apologize for not drinking as much milk anymore but I have switched to almond milk.   The last week has been filled with wonders, smells, sounds and, most importantly, new shoes.   My feet were very cold last week (but certainly not this week) because they are encased in running shoes that had ventilation in the toe so I went out and got a sweet pair of Converse high tops which keep my feet toasty warm right up to my ankles.   The problem I found though is that they are not good in the rain.   While it was not raining on my ride home yesterday I did get wet and the shoes are very slippery on the peddles.   I was stuck behind two guys for far too long (mostly because I forgot to take my new route so I can avoid the many, many ruts along the

Do birds yawn?

That is my question of the day.  I saw a seagull standing on the Rideau Canal wall this morning and it looked like he was yawning.  Now I'm curious. I forgot to show you the shoes I wore yesterday.  It was a fabulous shoe day.  After an initial crack (and even I was a tad worried for a moment) my foot settled into the shoe and was quite happy for the entire day.  We won't discuss how it felt last night....that's a secret between me and my Advil. Like the shoes say "my feet looked fabulous". Today's shoes are a favourite from our last Pointe Clair shopping adventure. You just have to love living in Canada.  The weather was so different this morning than it was yesterday.  Yesterday I was sweating 15 minutes into my ride to work and this morning it felt like there were icicles on my fingers.  Lovely for biking though.  So many pretty sights to see this morning as well.  Seeing the hot air balloon in the sunrise was so pretty as long as you don&#
